Home Information Pack (HIP)
A Home Information Pack (HIP) has to be in place for a property before it can be put on the market. Indeed, to market a property before a HIP is available would be an offence and result in a £200 fine.
An Energy Performance Certificate is an essential part of the HIP. This certificate, which needs to be completed by a specially-trained assessor, will inform buyers about a home’s energy efficiency using A to G ratings, like those used to rate washing machines.
At SMR Solicitors we have our own qualified Energy Assessor who will be able to conduct the assessment and produce the Energy Performance Certificate for you.
All Home Information Packs must contain:
- Index
- Property Information Questionaire
- Energy Performance Certificate
- Sale Statement
- Evidence of Title
- Local Authority Search
- Water and Drainage Search
Please contact Roger Stone at Chichester or Sarah Evans at Selsey for more information.
- SMR Solicitors has the expertise to prepare a fully-compliant HIP for you and advise you on any aspects of this new requirement.
